Experian report holding up mortgage application

Not quite, we were waiting for a default to drop off on Sunday, it was still there, but we phoned as they had a customer services line and Equifax assured us they normally drop off within 7 days, so paying another £2 then.
Its Experian we are waiting for, but need to wait a week for them.0 -

I just went through the process, but it told me it was £9.95 and I can cancel within a month if I no longer want it... thats okay just in case I have to check a few times until my loan is cleared off.
However, when I got to the final stage, I have a message that I have to ring them, did you have to do this? ... they closed at 8pm so I have to wait until tomorrow now0 -
Mind you they did try to sell me the full package while on the phone though, but just politely said no thanks.0

So even if it is cleared off Equifax, it could still appear on Experian? ... OMG this is so frustrating, especially when on a tight timescale
Thanks again Fuelman, hope everything sorts itself out for you, you have been a great help.0 -
Experian were extremely slow getting my passcode to me, it eventually turned up after 7 days, when you email them... you get a response of 'we will aim to reply to your email in 3 working days'.
Frustrating situation.0 -
Just remembered though, my wife did hers and when she googled Equifax to get the page she was directed to the £9.95 bit. So she stopped and did it again, this time picking the £2 report and got her report in minutes.0

I know, exactly the same for me Scottyboy  ... I specifically chose to view online thinking I would see it straight away.
We probably would have got it quicker if we had asked for it to be posted!!0 -

Your not kidding, you would think that they are supposed to be the biggest so would expect to be the best. But not so. Even Call credit (google noddle) who are free are instant.0 -

Yes. As companies normally report their data to only one CRA. When a check is requested then the requestors files get updated with information held on the other sources. There's no automatic updating mechanism.0 -
I was just about to use Call Credit before posting on this forum, but I read some bad reviews advising that it is not actually free and very hard to cancel the agreement, so I didn't continue. I just hope Experian come up trumps0
