Old fashioned bartering

Can't get much more OS than that can you?
Even though my hubby is leaving his job, his (soon to be ex) boss has allowed us half a field to grow veggies on as long as we grow some spuds for him.
The lady next door to us works packing free-range eggs for Tesco at a local egg farm but her kids are allergic to eggs so we swap, I give her fresh mushrooms and veg, we get a doz eggs. Even better her hubby works at a cheese dairy and plant so we get cheese too.
(I will explain they don't steal it, they are given an allowance and if they don't use it they lose it and it would be a waste not to)
Anyone else use the old barter system?
