Good deoderant that isn't tested on animals?

Options
Hi,

I've been trying to find a deodorant that isn't tested on animals and isn't ridiculously expensive... the latest I've tried is Superdrug which certainly isn't expensive, and whilst the majority of their products are very good, their deodorant is frankly awful

Can anyone please recommend a *good* deodorant that isn't tested on animals? Many of the 'organic' ones I've found come in at well over £10, especially when you include postage. :S

Thanks!

The chemicals used in deodorants have been tested on animals by research laboratories so you need to find an organic alternative such as the ones you have found or make it yourself.

Look at the PETA website... http://www.peta.org/living/beauty-and-personal-care/cruelty-free-deodorant.aspx

I've found those rock crystal ones to be quite effective.

Thanks both, how do they stack up against regular antiperspirants that we're used to though? I don't necessarily want to cut those out all together (Sure, Dove etc are great) but wondered if there are companies out there who have just cut out the animal testing now? I know a lot of products will be based on animal testing, but as long as the companies have cleaned up their act and don't still do it, I think that's enough to support them

    Thanks :)

Aldi, superdrug, sainsbury's and the CoOp's own brands are not tested on animals and cheaper and work bettr than that rock salt stuff, which gave me and the GF a rash when we tried it.

I use Lush deodorants - they look like soap and are good deodorants and better value for money than some

I do suggest you give one of the rock salts a try. I bought one a couple of years ago and it worked quite well so when Holland and Barrett had their next buy one get one 1p offer, I bought another two. I am still only two thirds of the way through the first one, so have several years' worth still in my drawer! They are a deodorant but not an antiperspirant I think.

Worth a try, and even if you use it every other day you are cutting down on a lot of chemicals all round

M&S do a roll on deodorant (at least in the cocoa butter range), I have bought one to try so not sure if it's any use as of yet, but their own brand range is BUAV approved :)

I am another one for the rock salt. Bought a trial size from holland n barratt nearly 6 years ago now. I have picked up 2 more over the years . As I woud missplace the original one.

Seen a recipe for a coconut oil based one. I will link tomorrow when at a p.c.
