This is a good quality Laptop that does have a great amount of RAM but there is nothing that really distinguishes it from the recent wave of new laptops out there. so while you do have to pay more for the higher quialty devices you arte getting more for your money
Would you recommend something else then? What do the new laptops have to offer?Cup of Tea? :coffee:0 -
There are a variety of laptops you could choose from: (All cheaper than the original device you listed)
Lenovo IdeaPad S400
Packard Bell TE11
Acer Aspire V5-571
Acer Aspire E1-571
Look at sites such as SaveOnLaptops, Ebuyer and Laptops Direct for the best deals on these laptops, as £350 is not an unrealistic budget for what you are looking for0 -
Thank you for your reply. Is the price the only better thing? Reason why I am asking is because I have had a Acer and the fix issues have put me off so I rule them out even though I tend to see them on offer often. There are a variety of laptops you could choose from: (All cheaper than the original device you listed)

No, these laptops are either the same spec quailty or better than the Asus you suggested with reduced prices.
I personally have had no real issues with Acer, but if the problem was only with a single device then I would suggest leaving your options open with Acer, as they can produce good devices.0 -

I have a room in the house that is an office, but it's also very easily moveable to the lounge coffee table if needs be and I use a tablet out and about. It seems to work better for me as I get more work done, much more quickly on the larger screen and easier to type on keyboard.
It's never an easy decision is it?
As a matter of interest, if you don't mind telling us, which desktop touchsmart did you go for, I have been thinking about getting one of these0
