Pension scheme still running?

Hi,
My wife had a pension scheme at her work, some years ago. She was paying into this scheme for some time, and was with the company for 6-7 years.
She still has some of the paperwork, but won't contact the company, as she thinks that when she handed in her notice, she effectively gave up the pension.
Does anyone know if this is the case? Might there be some money there, due to her?
Thanks

The pension should still be there in her name unless she transferred it when she left. She should be receiving annual statements. Definitely ring up the company0

Leaving a company doesn't normally end pension entitlement. Annual statements may not be provided to those who aren't current employees but that doesn't mean the pension is gone.0

The pension will still be there and growing all the time.
Ring the pension company up and ask.
She obviously wont be able to cash it in until she is at least 55 but it will grow until then.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

The system where your pension evaporated if you left your employer was put a stop to back in Mrs Thatcher's time. So unless we are talking of before then, your wife should have a "deferred pension" in her name.Free the dunston one next time too.0
