Waxing chalk painted furniture...

Hello, this is my first posting to the site...sorry if this is a very obvious question but needing some advice from the experts! Have just been practising using Autentico chalk paint on a bargain stool. After painting, sanding, painting decided to take the plunge and apply the clear wax. After a day 'buffed' with an old t shirt...the finish is almost glass like....very shiny? Is this ok? Not having seen some actual waxed painted furniture I wasn't sure if ok....what is the usual advice for waxing? I've waxed some of the pine doors in the house but being fiddes coloured wax they seem different? Have been lurking on the threads for some time but not found the answer yet? Thanks for any help...

Not done it myself but was recently told to only leave the wax on for an hour before buffing to avoid a high shine. Someone with more knowledge will be along soon................Slightly bitter0

I'd say if you like it, then it is okay.
If you don't like it and want to reduce the shine I don't know how that would be done but there will be others on here that do.0 -
if no answer on this thread then try the shabby chic thread - loads of info on there0
