Good morning people, newbies and old timers!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:
Today I will/have:
- sending everyone off with packed lunches
- doing a couple of hours invigilating
- giving a presentation in return for a free yummy lunch!
- looking for another matched bet
- updating spreadsheet and spending diary
- making a storecupboard/freezer dinner
Have a good day everyone x

Walked to work to save on bus fare.
Going to bank at lunchtime to pay in a cheque and a couple of bags of change.
Transferred money out of savings account (not much!) to help with monthly payment which I forgot to send in April and hopefully stop DCA taking me to court (I suppose this plus being able to afford food until next payday is more useful than having savings  ).
Brought loads of food to work so I shouldn't be tempted to buy anything extra.
Made decision (whilst lying awake at 5.30am) not to buy any unnecessary 'stuff' next month - absolutely no clothes, CDs, books, or anything at all off eBay!!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
* I made OH and myself packed lunches

Hi all
So far today, I have,
Spent my morning off cleaning & washing (needs to be done
) rather than browsing the shops and spending.
Baked a batch of bread from stuff already in.
Later I plan to,
Use 'free trial' membership and go to gym.
Not HUGE steps, I know but "every little helps...."
Have a good day everyone.
