Ive hered through the grape vine that h s b c give interest free morgages to the muslem society ( please can i make it clear that im not racist) but was wondering if this is true and also wondered if any one could go into hsbc and demand equal treatment?
if i had known then what i know now

It's not about getting something for nothing, it's a method of charging interest in a way which pretends not to be interest and hence meets Muslim Sharia law.
So yes, HSBC would let you have one - but you'd be daft to want one as it's not cheaper than an ordinary mortgage.0 -

Anyone can take out a sharia compliant mortgage which does not charge interest: you don't have to be a Moslem.I don't think you'll find it's any cheaper than an ordinary mortgage thoughTrying to keep it simple...0 -

I'd imagine they'd snap your arm off if you demanded the opportunity to pay them more cash than you needed to(as for 'demand equal treatment')
