bleach on my carpet

I have stupidly spilt bleach on a burgundy carpet. Managed to dilute and dab it off but now it has dried there is a splat mark left that I didn't realise had even happened. Is there anything anyone can suggest to get the colour back. Thought about dye but don't know if that is possible on carpet

When I wanted to re-colour a bit of carpet, I bought a big pack of felt pens, and picked the one which was the right colour, then just slowly and carefully "coloured in" my carpet.
Don't know if it would work for you, maybe depend on the type of carpet?

If you have household insurance you might be able to get it replaced.0 -

Never mind the colour, do you know the fibre type of the carpet? Makes all the difference.
The felt tip pen method does work sometimes, but keep the right pen handy as the colouring may wear away and need retouching.0 -
I saw this title and was also going to say use felt pens...

Was thinking about the insurance route but felt pens sounds like a good idea too. Not sure whether it is covered on my insurance. Will have to look into it.Debt Free by Xmas 2013 No #131 £1199/£2,000

I would say felt pens or if that doesn't take try the expensive alcohol pens 'Promarker' is a good one. craft shops/artist supplies and internet are good suppliers. cost about £7 - 8 for pack of three pens usually - my grandkids found mine and love them for colouring in as they don't 'streak'.
They come in a huge range of colours and are long lasting.
and yes if your insurance covers accidental damage and the cost of the carpet is worth losing the excess (and the rise in cover costs when you renew) then go that route.0 -
Is it a man-made/acrylic carpet or is it made of wool/natural fibres? I imagine it's a bit like dying clothes, some fibres will take the colour and others won't.0
