Coffee machine buying advice needed

Hi Guys

At the moment I have a Greggs Latte every other day and now find I cannot drink instant, I Find the Greggs one even better then Costa but its probably just me!

I'm now looking for the best way to replicate that at home, ideally want something low maintenance as I'd be using it in the morning, i've looked around but theres so many options I dont know where to start, I always have a Latte.

Looked at Nespresso but not sure if thats just for Espresso.

Advice would be appreciated :)

  • I have a tassimo costa coffee machine T20. I find it brilliant and very easy to use and clean. The discs are about £4.99 for 8 drinks for the latte.

Can I use fresh milk with that machine? not a fan of those powdered or milk in the little cap
  • Look at the Delonghi Bean to Cup machines. This is what we are about to purchase. I really like the ESAM 5600.

They are pricey (between £550 - £1000) but they are fully automatic and you will not have to buy pricey pods. You put in your fresh beans which are then ground by the machine. You have a carafe for fresh milk which you unclip and put into your fridge to keep fresh. They also self clean.

Be careful though, once you start researching them it becomes addictive!! :D

For the coffee, you can't beat an Aeropress. It's a manual espresso machine that costs about £30 and makes better coffee than any domestic espresso machine and most professional machines.

For the milk, either microwave it for flat milk and if you want foam, buy an electric whisk.

Rather than look at the quick machines, Senseo, Tassimo etc. which work out at a very expensive cup of coffee purely because you are paying for the little pods (in various forms), yes they make a quick coffee but then again so does a good filter machine, why not buy the best Coffee machine you can afford than has all the functions you need for making a good quality coffee at a minimal price.

Bean to cup sounds great but way over budget at the min, I was looking at £100 max, now its starting to look unrealistic..

A cafetiere with good coffee- way cheaper than a gimmicky machine.

I'm now looking into a Aeropress (thanks bitemebankers!), I already have a little whisk thing so should be ready to go.

Might need to buy a coffee grinder if I go for above tho.

What the OP is looking for is a Nespresso machine with an Aeroccino 3.

Not really the right time of year as the money off offers are usually during the run up to Christmas.

I refill my Tassimo Discs with evaporated milk. (saves a few bob and I still get aerated foamy milk)
