Self Employed status and getting a mortgage

Hi - I am employed full time. I have opened a little on-line shop on ETSY [craft handmade website hosting lots of little crafty shops].....i am in no danger of making a profit from this [for the time being at least] and its more of a creative outlet really until i have the time to invest in it. I have not yet registered as self employed as i have had conflicting advice from the inland revenue as to whether i need to or not.
Anyhow, my question is that if i were to register as self employed but obviously my main income would be from my employed job would this affect my chances of getting a mortgage which we intend to apply for next year?
many thanks

No. No difference.
You only need to worry about it if you want your SE earnings taken into account. Then you'd need at least one year's accounts or SA302.I am a mortgage broker.
