Argos Sofas - any good?

Hi all,

We are moving at the end of the month, and are going to treat ourselves to a new sofa suite. we are looking for a 3 seater, 2 seater and single. I have been all over, and price wise argos seem to be very competitive. Also, they can deliver much sooner than others. I was wondering if anyone had argos sofas, or any advice o which ones are best to go for? leather is pref. simply as we have a 2 year old daughter, but fabric OK too for the right suite

many thanks in advance!

Hi Blue - I bought a couple of fabric sofas for a house I was renting out, and they stood up to a fair amount of use and abuse, and cleaned up quite satisfactorily. One thing I would say is that they're quite small - the so called 3 seater was only comfortable for 2 people, and the 2 seater was only suitable for 2 people if they were very familiar with each other!

    Hope this helps.

Totally agree with LL...bought our 2 & 3 seater sofas 3 years ago & was shocked with the size of them...but then we had huge sofas before them. They are wearing well...no obvious wear at all in fact....but then there's no kids here....that might make a difference!

A few people have told me that it takes along time with delivery. This may just be isolated cases.

Not really an answer to your question, but just had an idea.........

If you're looking for just a low priced suite, have you tried second hand and charity shops? Genuine leather sofas are usually hard wearing, so even if a bit grubby can be scrubbed up a treat. Also you could try your local council. Ours has a recycling charity it recommends which sells very high quality second hand furniture. You can even request what you are looking for, so you get put on a waiting list and as soon as that item is donated you get first dibs on it!
Two reasons to feel good this way -
1, You'll probally end up with a fantastic bargain, and something that isn't run-ofthe-mill.
2, What a contribution you will be making to the environment by chosing to recycle!
