to be honest, i dont see why anyone should have to request a recorded interview.
they record all your phone calls automaticaaly, so why not the WCA?

surely it will protect them as much as the claimant? or it should ....
if they recorded every assessment, it would prevent them from recording their blatant lies on the assessments, meaning ATOS would likely miss their targets and not get their bonus's as per their contract.

They get paid for those that they assess as being fit for work, no matter if those people appeal and win.

I tried to record the dd's WCA. I failed :) Could just hear mumble mumble mumble. If I though it out better I should have worn a shirt with a breast pocket. Open handbag sat on the knee just didn't work :rotfl:

they wouldnt accept a 'secret' recording as evidence anyway.
you cannot record without their knowledge, so it would be inadmissable

You are right, it would be inadmissible in court, but it is surprising what tribunals will allow. Often all you need to do is submit the written transcript to the tribunal as part of your evidence and confirm that the original recording is available.
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.

Rubbish! First you can legally, covertly record a conversation, not that the WCA actually is a conversation. Secondly, a tribunal is at liberty to accept whatever evidence it chooses.
