You paid a high interest rate. You didn't pay an extortionate rate!

You were happy to accept the rate when you signed.

Natwest kept it's side of the bargain by lending you the money. You kept your side by paying it off. End of story.

I suggest you take at look at mortgage repayments, where people pay £300k for a £100k house. It's a thing called compound interest.
