Rebuilding credit

Hi, I was made bankrupt in 2006 and my credit report is now looking much brighter,

I have decided its time to look at getting credit card to help my credit to get to a good level, I know I need to look into high interest rate and a low limit which is perfect,

Now looking through the searches capital one comes up, I default with these guys and they were in my bankruptcy, if I apply for the low credit card would they still have me on file?

Should I use a less known company?

And advise would be appreciated

It might be worth starting with Vanquis if you did not default with them.

I'd be interested to know however the result if you do apply to CO though, for the same reason but I am 6 years behind you.

When i went bankrupt i also had a Capital One card defaulted, I was discharged in July 2005. I now have a new Capital One card again. It's the Capital One Classic visa card. So i believe they don't mind, If your credit report is now good, then i say go for it

I went bankrupt in 2007 and discharged in 2008. I had a Vanquis card a few years after but applied for a 0% interest until June 2013 purchases and 0% until 2014 for balance transfers with MBNA end of last year. I was accepted! They gave me £3400 credit which surprised me. Only using it still to boost my credit report but good to get one finally with a lower APR.
