Anyone seen this ?. It's a "new" social network that combines elements of Twitter, SoundCloud, Tumblr, Ustream and Instagram apparently.

The reason I've posted it here is because apparently you can actually make money out of it.

There are also no limits on content size: videos can run up to 4 hours and 20 minutes, and photos can be any resolution and shape.

What is more, a copyright button lets users put a watermark on content and make it legally binding.

The channel owner keeps half the fees their feed generates, with the other half going to cover bandwidth and other overheads, as well as Pheed's profits.

To monetize your digital content and earn money, you can set your Pheed channel at a premium or charge based on a pay-per-view live broadcast event.

Premium channel holders can set a monthly (30 days) subscription fee to their Pheed channel and earn directly from users who want to access their content. Subscription fees vary between $1.99 and $34.99. The same fee options also apply when setting your pay-per-view live broadcast events. Earnings are distributed to you based on our Revenue Share Program and your balance/earnings report can be viewed anytime by clicking Balance in the drop-down account menu at the top right corner of any Pheed page.

So obviously if you convert the dollar values to pounds, you could make varying amounts - it would depend entirely on the content of your channel and whether or not people would either subscribe or pay for individual content.

You can also set an age rating for your channel to make it clear what sort of content you'd be seeing, which I think is a good idea. The Pheed app has apparently overtaken Facebook and Twitter in the App Store.

with everything being free on youtube, facebook twitter etc, the only way people are going to pay to see videos or photos etc is if they are a bit pervy then:D:rotfl:

I suspect so, yes

But then if you can provide original, exclusive content then it could certainly work.
