Oxfam Online shop - check your totals!

Warmingup
Purchases I made added up to £8.87. Postage was supposed to be free, and in fact was listed as 0.00. But the final total jumped to £12.92. Not only that, but my bank statement shows a further £5.99 debited from my card by Oxfam on the same day. What's going on? Anyone else had this? I will phone them on Monday.

Contact from Oxfam online shop today by email. They say 'mandatory' delivery charge of £3.95 was added. Yet my invoice shows '0.00' for delivery, in line with the website's claim that delivery is free unless you choose to make a donation for it. Surely I have rights here.0

OK looks as if they have contradictory pages on their website. Have looked again, and it does say 'UK standard delivery £3.95 per order' on the home page. But at checkout they have the old thing that delivery is free unless you choose to make a donation for it. Looks as if they've discontinued the free delivery, but not updated the checkout page. They've not updated their invoices, either.0

As far as I'm aware the delivery used to be free unless you chose to pay it, but they've change that now. Not sure when, but it was before Christmas. Looks like they've neglected to update all areas of the website to reflect this.Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00

When I bought something last year some items were free but more bulky items did have a set P&P charge. Don't know if this was the situation.
At least it was for charity but agree they shouldn't be claiming free delivery if there is a charge.
Just gone to check out and the site dsays the following on the pre checkout screen* Your basket total does not include delivery costs. These are calculated during checkout. Oxfam's standard UK delivery is £3.95 (per order) on orders containing Second-hand and Ethical Collection items. Optional free delivery is available on Oxfam Unwrapped gifts. Read our delivery FAQs.
So it looks like P&P is indeed no longer free for most items.0 -

OK realised that the 'extra' £5.99 was a purchase I'd made several days before at a bricks & mortar Oxfam shop. Was thrown by my online shop invoice not adding up correctly, and this £5.99 I'd forgotten about appearing on the same date on my bank account.0
