Should I get this slow cooker?

Options
It's a Crock-pot Cook and carry slow cooker. It'll be free (maximiles points) and I have been wanting one for a while. I know that a lot of posters here use slow cookers so if anybody has one I'd appreciate any advice! Worth getting or avoid like the plague? Thanks in advance.

I've got the original Crockpot and find it really good. Had to google this crockpot as hadn't heard of it - can't really see the point of having a looking lid so you can carry it but you might find that useful.

If you can get it with points so not costing you then probably worthwhile.

It's 5.7 litres. Is that an average size for a slow cooker?

The main 2 sizes in the UK are 3.5 litres and 6 litres, so looks as though it's slightly smaller than the usual large size.

I would go for it,Crockpot are very good make, I have had one or years, although I could not at first think of any occassion that I would want to carry it about but then thought it may be useful if you were wanting to eat out in the garden.

One with a lockable lid is a great idea for when you might need to be involved in 'catering for a buffet/family party'.

I've got some 'staywarm containers' that are supposed to have lockable lids ............. I repeat 'supposed to have lockable lids'.

I have the normal version of this Crock Pot and it's been very good so far, although I can't imagine why I would ever need a lockable lid and removable cord TBH.

Is this the only one available to you? If I bought again I would go for the Crock Pot Saute, you can use the dish on the hob, in the microwave, oven and freezer.

This is the only one available. I think I'll go for it, the portablility would be useful for taking food to my Grandmother. 89 years old, blind and she still tries to cook...! Thanks for the advice.
