As an alternative look at a Vax - for example the U90-MA-R on Amazon (there are cheaper versions)

Very good reviews and a 6 year guarantee

  • I bought Dyson upright "Pet" model about a year ago (in John Lewis sale) and have been very impressed with it. Previously had a Miele non-pet cylinder and it was OK but the Dyson is very much better.

I have two cats and two dogs, a dyson and a henry and honestly I'd recommend either.

I replaced my old Dyson with a Miele Cat and Dog, no comparison.
The only downside is that the TT5000 that I have is heavy. DD has the more compact lighter version which is just as good but uses a smaller dustbag.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I always say you need a upright vacum cleaner if you have pets and dont think Miele do up right but if they do buy it.

Miele do make an upright vacuum, I have one. It's an excellent cleaner which goes round corners (much like the ball on a Dyson) but I find it very heavy in use.

I gave my Dyson to my daughter in order to get the Miele but I am tempted to go back to a Dyson. The main reason is that I have a dog and get an awful 'doggy' smell every time I use the Miele which I end up getting rid of by spraying Febreze. I didn't get this problem with the Dyson and I think it's because it's bagless.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
