Hi, I does anyone have any advice?
I was supposed to be paid 2 days ago, but still i havent been paid. I keep sending messages to my employer but out of about 15 messages ive have 1 messages saying the wages will go in yesterday afternoon. I had direct debits gone out yesterday which have been rejected because there was no money in the account. I have no money for food, my car insurance has just expired and no petrol to get into work on Monday. Is there any financial support I can get from anywhere?
Many thanks

15 texts! that sounds excessive. What have they said?
Have you had any problems before?
Have you been working there long?
Is it a big company with a payroll department?
Once, a few days late is one thing but it may be a sign that the company is having trouble
I'm not sure you have any recourse against the company though. I guess getting the wages out of them may be hard enough, let alone claimingfor any loses.
Have you asked work if they can at least make an emergency payment to you to allow you to get petrol and get to work?
Have you got some food in your cupboard that you can stretch out (even if it's not great).
If you can't get to work on Monday then are you able to get to a CAB? they may be able to advise you on if you can get an emergency loan from the job centre, local foodbanks and how to get the money from your work.
Have you tried your bank and asked them to extend your overdraft/give you an overdraft?
Best of Luck

Sending messages? How about getting on the phone and demanding a faster payment go into your account...and if that fails go to your HR department and scream and shout about it.
Change the dates on your DD's so they go out a few days after you are paid. most of mine go out the following week to take into account banking errors delays, weekends...etc... if it looks like you don't have the money then get online and cancel them all to avoid charges.
Start budgeting so you have an emergency fund. You will have to borrow money from somewhere for Monday if you can't get a hold of your employer today. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR!!!!... Without insurance you would be commiting an offence of driving without insurance. Get the bus or do not go to work. Get the car off the road today and consider SORN'ing it...although you have a few weeks to do the SORN to avoid a penalty.:footie:

Its a small company, 3 employees and the boss. Ive worked there for 5 months now, for the past 3 months ive not been paid on time.
The boss pays the money into our accounts, ive txted him and been emailing him but he just isnt replying.0 -
I tried to ring him on payday because he wasnt in work, but didnt answer. But i know he's been ringing other employees, because i was there when they spoke to him.0

And what has he been telling the other employees? have they said anything? have they been paid?
It sounds like a mess.

Even more reason to have an emergency fund...small employers (well any really) could go BR without notice and you could find yourself with no pay at all for several months until it's all sorted out To get money out of the jobcentre you would have to wait at least 2 weeks (it's paid in arrears) so at the very least cut your expenses right down so you have at least one month of income saved. Its a small company, 3 employees and the boss. Can any of your family/friends help you out? Can you get to work without your car? I'd avoid getting a payday loan until you can speak with the boss and see what's happening. They may reimburse the cost of the payday loan if you word your complaint in the right way.:footie:

Next month cut your spending and move some cash into a savings account. Its irresponsible to live paycheck to paycheck ... what happens if you suddenly lose your job? Or your employer goes bust? Or you face an unexpected tax bill because you were on the wrong tax code? I've seen this happen to people all the time, they get themselves in very serious situations because they don't have any savings.0

thanks for the advice. ive worked for so many companies in the past and never worked for a place like this. By the looks of things he's getting what he can out of the busniess for personal use, and taking things on credit from other companies and not paying them. Ive answered alot of calls demanding payment and having a moan they have been waiting months. From what i hear from the other employees he's the same with them. I wouldnt of taken the job in the first place, as i was offered another job at the sametime as i took this one.
I havent any friends or family that can help me out, as for loans or overdraft, dont think theres anyone out there that will lend to me.
To get to work on public transport, well i havent any money to do so. Walking it would take approx 3 hours.0
