Does anybody have any idea how ebuyer are calculating postage at the mo, the homepage says free delivery £89+ yet you get free delivery in this harddrive which is sub £50 yet when i wanted to buy something else at £35 it says I have to pay £6.10 postage. So there's no point in this google checkout promotion anymore0

Some items have free delivery. But then that applies to that item only. If you go over £89 then you'll get free delivery for everything.
The Google checkout will save you a tenner no matter what you spend over £30 (inc. vat, ex. delivery).
I would suggest you spend another £4 on something and get the free delivery at £89 or just order the hard-drive on its own.The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Is it not normal practice to mention the other money saving board that originally posted the deal?

Isn't the OP here a newbie?
Perhaps doesn't realise that it takes a google search or similar to find if someone has already posted something elsewhere on the internet (I take it you are posting about the Hot Deals UK website) just in case someone criticises them for daring to share a money saving deal that they might have found under there own steam.
Not everyone is aware of the other moneysaving sites out there but I've become more aware of them through people like yourself who come on the boards here and say that something was posted somewhere else first - so thanks to you and those like you for that very welcome information.
However I thought this site was about people helping each other to save money does it matter so much if something was posted elsewhere first - it doesn't mean that the OP seen it and is taking credit for it (maybe he/she got an email about it or seen the offer while looking at ebuyer website).
Hey it's windy outside, I noticed when I was out, but just in case here is a link - www.bbc.co.uk/weather

Good post newbie but consider yourself suitably scolded

Scolded - good one.
I'm sure your pedantic reply was far more effective.
Take my original reply in the context it was intended rather than the above drivel.
PS: He joined in Oct 2004 - newbie?0 -

What context? You are the only one who knows how it was intended.
I will concede that I didn't note the joining date but regardless, it doesn't change anything else.0 -

newbie LOL .... anyway i was thinking of getting the same drive yesterday and i ordered it at £61 from the page i had still got loaded on my PC from lastnight, only to see that it had indeed become "the deal of the day" on ebuyer and dropped in price. i quickly rung ebuyer and promptly cancelled the order.
once that was sorted i re ordered it and used google and then posted it on here...... makes me wondered why i bothered
