Sky+HD For £16.50 for the year after cashback

Sky have an offer for existing customers that upgrade to HD for £5 for first 6 months then £10.25 per month after. Currently TCB are offering £75 cashback to upgrade to HD.
If my maths is correct:
£5 x 6 = £30
£10.25 x 6 = 61.50
Total = £91.50
Minus £75 cashback = £16.50!!
Mine tracked within a few hours! :j

I nearly went for this, but the following terms probably preclude us as we had HD a while ago and cancelled it, but both our boxes are obviously HD boxes even though we now only have Sky+.You will only be eligible for cashback on Sky+HD upgrades where the box and pack are purchased at the same time.
· Sky Upgrades Cashback is only paid once your HD+ Box is active and setup using the self set-up, as well as you obtaining your first HD pack.
· Existing Sky+ customers must take our self set-up option for Sky+HD upgrades.
· Customers with existing HD box will not be eligible. Please keep a record of your Sky customer id and order number as both of these will be required if you need to raise a claim
I'm not going to risk it as we didn't find HD worth it - they've been offering us 12 months of HD for £2.50/month for a while now and that's not enough to tempt us back! It's a good offer if you've not had it before though

Seems like a bit of a daft T&C to be honest as they've been giving HD boxes at first setup, even without subscribing HD, for quite a while now so I presume loads of people have an HD box but haven't had HD.
It's perfectly possible it will all go through fine for you, but I'm not risking having to pay £91.50 over the year for something I turned down at £30/year iyswim!
Hope it's all good for you

And HD boxes are supplied as standard now - I've just got one on a new Sky contract.
So I assume this offer is to get the remainder of the long standing Sky customers over to the new HD boxes...--- Warning: Grumpy Old Man in Training ---0 -
So I guess, if it's Sky and it sounds good, there must be a catch....0

We too have never had HD but got a secondhand HD box, tempted to register my old sky+ box to my account (telling sky the HD box is broken) then order this deal once the online account is updated :money:0 -
If you're after HD just get a Freesat+HD box - it does what the Sky box does and will record/timeshift etc. but obviously you won't get the subscription channels (which seem like they're 40% adverts anyway).
Consider that the BBC only costs £12-ish per month and for that the provide brilliant TV in HD, the best catch-up platform and no adverts at all on any of their channels :T0 -
I just got bt you view deal as was going buy a record box which cost £299 for humax, others cheaper. Anyhow, £5 month one off £40 ish payment record, rewind and the players which don't use up ur allowance. £100 for this all together for twelve months, keep box when finished.... Btw cancelled my sky and they send letters ring up every week offering 50%. After years paying them they can get stuffed.....SIMPLES!0
