"Healthy" magazine + 150g walnuts = 88p from Holland and Barratt

Found in Redcar store, not sure if nationwide. Combination of a glitch and an instore offer. If you buy a copy of Healthy magazine instore, there is a limited time offer of 150g of Neals Yard walnuts free with magazine. However, H&B are currently doing buy one get one half price on EVERYTHING instore, and the walnuts count as Item 1 so the magazine is discounted by 87p making it 88p.

so you are paying 88p for the magazine & the walnuts?

I wonder if you get the discount if you get the walnuts from the shelves & hand them over first - I bought the magazine & was then given the walnuts FOC, which were under the counter & was charged £1.85 or whatever the cost is.

The magazine and the walnuts were on the counter. So I paid 88p for the walnuts and the magazine. The assistant signed me up for the loyalty card (she asked me for an email address) so I dont know if that made a difference.

Just had a look at my receipt, and it says
magazine £1.75
walnuts £3.99
discount -£3.99
discount -87p

thanks lynne - totally forgot about these - would have got my mum some.
Went in today especially for some tablets which were half price on Wednesday, not realising that the offer changed on Thursday - now buy 1 get 1 half price. So I sulked and didn't buy them but will prob have to go back next week to get them
