About Asda Online Delivery

Options
Hey there!

I'm wanting to place a food shop online with ASDA to be delivered tomorrow. Problem is - there won't be any money in my bank account until tomorrow. Will they let me process the order or do they charge the account straight away?

The charge the account when you shopping is put through the tills on the day of delivery. The will however take a holding deposit, Asda only tend to take 2p with me recently, every time I amend the order they take another 2p. I've just placed my weekly order with them this morning and 2p is showing between my account and available balance on online banking. I would however recommend its £2 as this is the general amount they are known to take. They just do this to make sure the card your using is valid.

I've found that once I've gone through checkout I then amend the order but do not check out again until the day before delivery, that way I don't keep getting "charged" for amending.

You will be charged when it is picked, which is overnight.

Ocado doesn't charge until after the shopping is delivered in case there are subs or refunds needed, they told me. Noo idea if they do the £2 thing.

picking generally starts at 4am, depending on what time slot you choose will depend on what time your card is charged. If its an early slot then the first vans are usually out before 9am so i would expect your card to be charged around 7am ish when the deliverys go through the till. Anything that goes out on the evening vans will go through the till a bit later on as it has to be picked before it goes through the till. Its a pain when someones card comes back as not authorised as we have to cancel the order and put it all back again.
