Having trouble spending money.....

Does anyone have trouble spending money now they are trying to become debt free?
It's my birthday today and I told me hubby not to worry about getting me anything as I liked the balance of our bank account. He of course, wouldn't have that and took me shopping.
I really struggled to pick something as all i had going around in my head is, oh i can get that cheaper somewhere else, i could probably get cash back for this if I didn't get it in store.
In the end I decided on a watch and the rest of the money has gone in my card.
Admittedly we are not in a huge amount of debt but I do like saving money and not paying too much for things.
I think I have forgotten how to spend money on myself :rotfl:

I know how you feel, I will only spend money on things that I really need, even if I can afford that little treat. Paying bills I will do happily, but a haircut - too frivolous

Happy Birthday! I know exactly what you mean, I find myself feeling bad about spending on anything that's not absolutely necessary (unless it's an impromptu night out which is fine at the time then I feel guilty afterwards

Happy Birthday!
I often feel exactly the same most days, I just think that the money will be better spent on debts, nothing wrong with that! However, other days (I find especially when I'm with BF) I just think what does it matter if I spend a bit of money, I might as well treat myself, and inevitably end up regretting it!0 -
I'm exactly the same now.
I was thinking about this only earlier this morning - i've lost the desire to go out and spend like a crazed maniac (which is obviously a good thing!)
I do still have little 'blind spots'. i've just ordered a new hoover. Reduced from £70 to £15, bagless cyclonic jobby. Bargain. Don't need it though!
