Does anyone???

Options
I enter around 300-400 comps a day (dailys included in that) I have one a fairly decent price but that was 2 weeks ago, and not one anything since, does anyone else get frustrated entering so many comps every day religiously and not winning anything? Sorry for the moan, try talking to hubby about it but he doesn't 'get it' x

2 weeks is nothing, people have gone months without a win. It could be that many that you have entered haven't even finished or been drawn yet. Just keep at it and don't expect wins, it will only lead to more frustration.

I think we all probably feel like it at times. I generally have a read of the IWIWIW thread and it gives me the impetus to keep going.

  • Nope - I enter loads - thousands a month - and I still regard every win as a minor miracle!!

When I do the maths - I reckon most comps for prizes worth over £100 are entered by 2,500 plus people and some by far, far more - then probability says you should win at most 1 in 2,500.

So, if you enter 100 comps a day, for prizes worth over £100, then you should win once every month(ish)...

So that's where the luck comes in and luck is a funny thing....I buy a couple of £2 scratchards a week and the odds of winning on them are around 1 in 4 so I should get a win a fortnight -but I haven't had a winning scratchcard this year (10 weeks and counting really cos the last winner was the day before Christmas Eve)!! - and that is the equivalent of entering 100 comps a day for five months without a win...

Will I give up buying scratchcards? - no!

Will I give up entring comps? - no!

Because someday, maybe, possibly, perhaps - it could be me!! :rotfl:
:smileyhea Thank you to all that post comps - may the Comping Fairy return your time and generosity doubled!:smileyhea

I agree with Sue. I bet most of us have times when we feel fed up or frustrated with comping. Even those that win seem to feel fed up with not getting bigger wins sometimes.

At the moment I feel a bit pouty at still having no luck with mag dailies even though I've upped entering to daily religously and still nothing. :o

Have a moan to yourself and then keep at it. With the amount you're entering you have decent odds on a few small wins at least :)x

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

You can see thousands try for a bar of chocolate or other items worth well under £5 on FB.
A twitter comp for a £2 bottle of shower gel - 1276 entries (retweets)
The daily comp for 4 AA batteries has had on occasion over 550 entries a day.
Someone on the forum recently won a lamp and cushion, they were told there were 8,000 entries - the competition post on MSE had 763 thanks and 1733 views (some of the views will certainly be from after the win was posted).

I think for the lower end of £100 upwards you could probably multiply the 2,500 by at least 3 and once you get in the high £100's by 5,6 or more and a hit by one of the automated entry systems can add 20,000 or more to the number of entries.

Quite right, one thing is for certain if you don't enter you cannot win (apart from the crooked comps).

Just seen a FB "like" comp for a £100 Homebargains voucher has over 24,000 entries and is still going.

I had 3 weeks dry....and i do 95% of comps (no rafflecopters and very few FB L&S) When I started i had loads of little wins which made up my xmas hampers which my lady family members loved. Then had 2 biggies (flights to Jamaica and the David Bowie one)...I love winning everything I enter and win. As some have said before, some peeps have won nothing in months.....just enjoy it...your turn will come....better odds than the lotto!
    TOTAL 2013 £3100
    TOTAL 2014 £1250

TOTAL 2015: £500 winning:2 tkts to theatre, Cap1 Footie, weeks holiday in lakes.
  • 100's a day and no win. Been doing this for over a year now. Frustrating.
Not giving up just yet though.
