Can i freeze prawn curry?

Hi,
I made a prawn curry from scratch , the prawns were orginally frozen, now i know you can thaw meat cook and re freeze, can i do this with the prawns please? :cool:

    if the prawns were uncooked (ie gray prawns) then yes - but pink prawns have already been cooked so the 'official' advice would be no! But, I have done this loads of times - no ill effects whatsoever! just that the prawns can get a bit overcooked if you don't defrost very carefully in fridge overnight and serve as soon as the curry reaches temperature.

    They were the pinks ones, if you have done it i will too , im not usually afraid to freeze any left overs.

    Not worried hun - if my uber-sensitive tummy has had no ill effects from eating it - I doubt anyone else will!

    Besides, you would have to find me first to sue me!:rotfl:

    i have cooked the prawns in a curry and then refreezed them.

    I am still alive - just make sure it is thoroughly cooked!

    Not a good idea - Norovirus is about the most common toxic agent in prawns and is also one of the few that remains active at temperatures below freezing.

    Reheated prawns also taste dreadful.

    What's a bit of norovirus between friends? Seems the answer is do it, but invest in some comfy loo roll just in case (and don't serve to delicate people!)

    Just caught up with this and got loads of loo rolls, we are talking about 60, so they should see me through :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Remember to have a couple of buckets handy for when the other end goes off at the same time - norovirus is nasty that way.
