I had seen that link. Have you used it? The geographical search is for "Enquiry centres" and you'd be very lucky to find one which you can call local.

Depends what you mean by "local". Up to a few years ago, there were tax offices in virtually every major town, and they had staff in each office able to deal with all common aspects.

Now, a "local" office appears to relate to a county rather than a town. True, there are still smaller town centre offices around, but these are little more than reception desks, and in many, if you want "advice" when you call in, they point to a telephone linked to their national enquiry centre, and the telephone numbers for these town centre offices are not actually listed anywhere, so you can't call them directly.

Even with the county "area" offices, the published telephone numbers take you to regional call centres that cover several county or "area" offices.

There's even talk of centralising it even more!

Hi! I just wanted to report that “local” tax offices do not exist any more. An accountant friend has confirmed this.

I want to make this clear to Kellyshay: I never expected you or anybody else to “do” things for me.
Without being rude, you started this thread on the 8th and were still looking for a telephone number on the 14th.

As for local tax offices they do exist i should know i work in one of them!!
