Linked and association details on credit reports

Hi all
I've rec'd a copy of my credit report from three main CRAs and am going to get on with checking and cleaning.
I've been through the 'clean up your credit record' link and will act upon its advice.
However, one thing I don't see covered by the link is this...
All three credit reports have sections called Financial Associations, Address Links or similar and basically relate to my past links with my ex wife. The facts are...
1) None of these links relate in any way to my going BR.
2) All of the financial or housing links listed are over six years old - like previous joint cards, accounts and mortgages - and have all been paid/satisfied long since.
3) My ex and I separated in August 2006 and are divorced.
Is there any way I can get these removed as part of my general clean up? Should I contact the CRAs or the lenders? Does it matter or do any harm to my credit rating?
In addition, I notice that in my Experian report, Wave Lending (who I had a mortgage with on my last house, which went into my BR) seem to have a mortgage listed against my current address which I rent and is nothing to do with them. Should I ask Experian or Wave to correct this?
As always, any help would be gratefully rec'd.
Thanks and very best wishes all
Kevin

Hi Kevin
All the issues you raise (with the exception of Wave) look like ones that the credit reference agency (CRA) should be able to resolve for you themselves. Financial associations which are no longer relevant i.e. with your ex-wife, can be severed without too much difficulty by contacting the CRA directly.
As for Wave, we would advise you to contact them directly to ask that they amend/correct/remove the offending information from your file. If they are not co-operative you may need to escalate the matter to the Financial Ombudsman and/or the Information Commissioner.
Good luck
