Dont know if this applies to this section of the forum.
Do you answer unknown numbers or numbers that are withheld?
I receive about 7 calls a day from a certain number yet they still refuse to leave a voicemail although my voicemail clearly states "I do not answer unknown or withheld numbers so please leave a message and I will call you back" They yet insist to keep calling knowing that I will never answer it.
If it's important enough to call about 7 times a day surely these people would leave a voicemail.
Anyone else do the same?

I think you will find you are being called by a dialler which does not leave messages and will keep on ringing you until you answer and it can put you through to a salesperson - at that point you can say no thank you and that should stop it but until then it will keep ringing you0

Hell no I never answer them if its a number I don't know I stick it in Google if it calls a few times to see who it is!0

Prob an automated dialler as said above. There's no human who understands your voicemail!
Just answer it once but hang up without saying anything if it's that unwanted!0 -
If its really annoying ask BT or whoever you have your line with too ban witheld numbers that cuts down a hell of a lot of unwanted calls.0

The problem with not saying anything is that the operator (sales person whatever) will think there is no contact and will therefore put the number back in the system for a redial and it will all start again. My dad once told me he had successfully ignored 42 calls in one day:D if he had just spoke to them once he would not have had to go through all that
So as I said - best thing to do is to answer then when you get through to an operator tell then either that you are not interested (try to be polite or they will put you back in the system out of spite) or even better tell them you have telephone preference service (then get that sorted out asap if they annoy you this much)0 -
Its a mobile not a landline. If it were the landline phone i'd answer itNo Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Have you tried witholding your number & calling it back to see who answers? I suspect no one will but if they do & you don't recognize them or want to speak to them you can always say you've got a wrong number & hang up.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

You did say it was a withheld number/number unknown so I am a bit confused as to how you know its a mobile.
Anyway sorry but I dont see why you just dont answer it and find out who it is.0 -

You missunderstood my post. Its an unknown number ringing me on my mobile.
I have always and will continue to disregard unknown numbers. Why should i change my ways just for one. The voicemail states I will never answer unknown numbers. No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20
