Good morning people, newbies and old timers! I hope you are enjoying your long weekend, despite the forecast rain!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:
Today I will be (or since I last posted I have):
- doing a couple of hours invigilating at school
- doing piggy clicks
- have listed loads on ebay
- sending everyone with packed lunches
- trying for a NSD, much to the disappointment of the family who are fed up of what is in the cupboards!
Have a good day everyone and I hope today is a successful non-smoking day for oops-a-daisy x
edited to say that I have just realised I have put July as the date. DOH!!!

Today I have...
- Gone into Starbucks (as we needed to get some lunch whilst out) and walked out again when we saw how much everything cost!! Would have probably spent £15 (sandwich for me & DH, 2 coffees, drink and gingerbread biscuit for DS2!) - Instead, we went to Sainsburys and got 2 sandwiches, drinks & gingerbread biscuit for DS2 and spent around £5-6!!
- Even better - DH actually said it was far too expensive in Starbucks and that he couldn't justify spending that.....DH is not good with money...would normally not even think about the cost!!!!! Perhaps I can get him hooked on MSE yet!!!!!:rotfl:
- Also sent DS1 to school with packed lunch!
