Fake debt collector Manchester 01618149908

We have recieved two phonecalls from a number (01618149908) in Manchester (we live in Liverpool), from a man claiming to be a local finance agency/debt collector/debt researcher/market researcher. They are very vague and won't give the company name or their own name, and won't tell us how they recieved our information. They say we have credit card bills we owe to "an agency" and a pay-day loan we owe to "an agency". We don't actually own any credit cards and have never had a pay-day loan (or any other loan apart from our student loans).

When we grilled them the second time they called about how they got our information and which companies we supposedly owe money to, they hung up. We're assuming this is a fake agency, we tried ringing back on a different phone to see what they called themselves when they answered but it was engaged.

I would like to report this and if possible, find out how they got our number, does anyone know how I can go about this?

Thank you!
