    Hi

I've just made this but used passata instead of tinned toms and a blob of cream cheese stirred through it. DD is currently tucking in and is really enjoying it

We have this type of meal about once a week, dont forget you can also used diced chicken breast, bacon, or both together - v.nice we also recently discovered that adding a few salami slices or other different types of spicey saussages are also delicious

I usually pay the same for sausage meat as I do sausages, just saves the waste and faffing
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Thanks so much for this recipe. I made it yesterday using some Waitrose free range pork sausages and my HM tomato sauce (since it contains onions/celery and so added a bit more in the way of veg) and there's always a container of it in the fridge. It was really delicious and so quick to make. Had it with side salad. It's one of these recipes that you think "why did I not think of that?". Definitely be using it often in the future - just the thing to feed hungry teenagers when they say they need to eat and be out within the next 10 minutes!

this type of dish is lovely with salmon as well, dont need to cook the salmon either, heat from the pasta will cook it. just in case you come across some cheap salmon steaks. You can call it salmone alla (your name with an Italian accent)

Pasta with sausages is something we have alot for dinner, except I don't bother skinning the sausages, I just chop them into bits and brown them with an onion and garlic clove, before adding tinned tomatoes and cooking until reduced and the meat is cooked. Always have parmesan on top, and some cream when we've got some in.

Made this last Thursday for 4 kids -they loved it :D I think the key to the success of the dish is the fact that the sausage is crumbled rather than cooked and sliced.
