  • This thread is so useful. I'll be joining in next month for sure. My debts are actually mostly student loan, but I'd like to join in the challenge to get out of my overdraft!
  • Well done on the new job - awesome :-)

A couple of small ebay sales to take my total to £227.19 - yay :-)

Am also a super happy bunny as a result of the budget news (there can't be many of us!). But basically I'm simultaneously trying to pay off my debt as well as to save a deposit for a house. I live in London so deposit amounts are HUMONGOUS so the news that I can apply for a 20% loan from the government is good news indeed.

I know it's still credit, but a very different kind of credit in my mind (0% for 5 years and then 1.75% plus it's secured).

It basically makes something potentially accessible which was seeming soooooooo far out of reach.

Better not count too many chickens ;-)

I see ebay now have some of the other couriers listed on the postage options. I just checked and the parcel which RM would charge me £12.30 to send would cost £5.60 with hermes - and they collect from my house!!! I'm sure RM are doing it to pass ebayers on to other companies. The number of compensation claims for non delivery must be massive if we are all noticing an increase in that happening (which i sure am). Such a sad state of affairs the whole thing :(
I agree with this Fairy I am sure they want rid of Ebay sellers due to the increase in non delivery.I am going to look at the courier option but think they will be overwhelmed at the start of the RM price increases as most sellers will go that way.So again will leave it for a while until it settles. My Hermes driver who always delivers to me and rings me first to make sure I am here  Gives a fantastic service. But the reviews on them as a company are pretty dire :(

    I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depending on whether my bf will still get some housing benefit or not depends on whether we are actually £150 short per month which is stupid since this job is a massive £3k payrise from my last job.

And my tribunal forms came through this morning with a hearing date set.

    Whoo!!!!
Woo Hoo congratulations on the new job :T:T:T:T

Well done Emmaglet - Fab News!!

Ebay is doing my head in - what with the Royal Mail thing and the flaming hoops they want you to jump through as a business seller coming, I'm currently trying to work out if it is financially viable! Shop fees going up to £20 a month means I will deffo be closing one of them down - theres just not the regular sales out there to sustain it!! So glad I have the PT job at the school now - even though it drives me crazy!

Rant over - and £10 to add from shop n scan

Thanks for all the congratulations. I start tomorrow, so I've made my lunch, packed a bag full of everything I could possibly need, including chocolate for the 3pm crash. Just printed all my eBay postage out and paid eBay fees, so £39.74 to add making my total for the month £485.34. So £500 should be mine easily.

Some more charity shop bag items sold - a dress for £23, top for £6+ and another dress for £5. I went into the shop today and asked if they're planning on having another "fill a bag for £5 event" and they good news is that they are! I also picked up the popular 30 Day Shred dvd for cheap, looks like it is going for another £5 on eBay, so there's some extra pennies.

I am going to start using Collect+ a lot more. Prices start at £3.99 so items are going to be cheaper than RM first class large parcel.

  • Congratualtions Emmaglet. Thats awesome news.

I'm adding another £35.00 from an assessment I did today. I'm going to have a couple of days off now as I have to travel back to Yorkshire tomorrow for my gramps funeral.
