Going Bankrupt soon!YIPPEE!!

I have made the decision to go bankrupt soon.I've been reading through this forum & have a question to ask!
I've read a few posts saying that a judge will insist that you have sought advice from CCCS or Payplan, before granting bangruptcy.I have spoken to neither of these, only the CAB.
Can anyone advise as to wether this would be acceptable advice,or will i need to consult CCCS/PAYPLAN as well?
Great advice on this forum,thanks!!

CCCS are really helpful particularly with filling in income expenditure forms, - the more advice you get the better as this forum shows. We used CAB initially and CCCS after that. Remember to keep copies of everything for future reference.
Good luck with next steps - things do get better - honest
We went BR Nov 06 and I hope to be discharged shortly!Discharged June 06:beer:
Not visited for ages but missed you guys0 -
Congratulations on making the decision. It is not the best thing for everyone, but personally for me was te 3rd best day of my life (after having my daughter and getting married).I had a couple of visits to the CAB, and one phone call to cccs and ths was acceptable for the judge.
Personally I had nothing to lose by going bankrupt, i don't own my own house, or my own business and the most expensive thing I could've have taken away was my plasma tv (which i managed to keep hold of, yippee!!).
IT IS NOT THE BEST MOVE FOR EVERYONE THOUGH ( i had to put that as otherwise i may've been slated by others by making bankruptcy seem non-important, when it could be the complete downfall for others. IT IS NOT A DECISION TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY - for others benefit also).
But if it really is best for you, then go for it, and have a blooming party after! Ths could be the start of your new, wonderful debt free life.

Advice given/taken from any one of the agencies will suffice.
I had never even heard of payplan or cccs befor ewe went BR. we used the CAB and they were fantastic, so you will be ok just contacting them.
Good luck

Thankyou all for your comments, most usefull!
Does anyone know how far back in bank statements the OR will require,or does it depend on the individual case?Any thoughts, greatly appreciated!
Cheers....0 -
Depends on each OR. They will tell you what they need and when so don't panic about getting that up together just for the court hearing.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0

The normal period requested initially is 12 months. If the OR deems it necessary for the investigation of your affairs, they can go back a lot further. Up to 5 years I think.
The important thing to note is that if you are missing statemnts, the OR can request them directly from the creditor, and the creditor must comply.
Therefore, don't pay to get any copies of ones you don't have. Just tell the OR so they know to request from the creditor.
Good luck

Hi , just to say well done it is a big step but once i came to terms with it i haven't looked back ...
I never saw a judge ... went to court , paid the fees told to go away for 2 hours went back and was given the BR order ...too easy !! but ... i do have to see the official receiver next week ..
I did phone payplan ..they are very good they give you a rough idea of how much you can put down on your SOA . I never had hair cuts , pets bill , dry cleaning , but they put that all down sounded good to me ... good luck ...BR as of 26th April 2007 and feeling 10 years younger :T
If only ex could be sorted as easily :wall:0
