AngelsMadv wrote: »Thanks so much, DODO. The reason my OH worries so much is that the CAFCAS officer last time was brought back out of retirement (they were busy) and was completely deluded - past her best I think. Even after pointing out that he was terrible at practically all parenting and had a coke-dealing older son, she put a bad report in but then changed it when he complained. It said at first that mother was best - after his complaint it said "there wasn't a hair to split between the two". You can imagine how that made OH feel who'd brought them up on her own for the last 3 years.
The type of guy he is - didn't put his name on DD3's birth certificate until after I came on the scene (when she was 1) - why? Because he thought her name was old fashioned and didn't like OH's name choice! :rotfl:
Some of this sounds so like my older cousins case, her ex was a drug dealer, he nearly killed her when the youngest was a year old and in front of all the kids. She had to escape and live with her mum and two youngest sisters in a 3 bed town house with her 4 kids.
She finally got a council house and managed to find a wonderful man who took on her kids as his own. Her ex decided that he wasn't happy with another man looking after his kids so phoned social services and told them he'd walked in to find her beating the kids with a belt! The best bit was that he hadn't seen the kids in almost a year!
He told them that he wanted help to get custody, he got assigned a social worker who just happened to be friends with his neighbour so no matter what happened my cousin, in her eyes, couldn't cope and wasn't looking after the kids right.
We told her to ask the judge to assign her ex a new social worker because she was so biased, the judge finally agreed that it wasn't a good situation so got someone else.
It was when they got his drugs test results, social worker reports, school reports and counsellor reports that the judge only granted him visits. He started off great but his new partner made the mistake of buying the 2 youngest overly sexualised clothes and he decided that it wasn't suitable so stopped the overnight visits. To this day he now only sees the kids on Xmas morning and only for an hour at the most. He's an alcoholic and back on drugs so the kids don't want to be near him.
The kids have grown up to be good kids and the eldest on her birthday was over heard talking to her mate about going out for dinner with her mum and dad, her mums partner was on cloud nine. After so many years together they're finally getting married next year. It's going to be fun as he has 3 kids of his own who stay with them every other weekend. They're planning just to take all the kids with them and get married then have a big party after wards.
I'm happy for them as they've managed to get through a lot to get where they are now.

Morning folks, although it may just about be afternoon by the time I post this.
Flying visit again, it seems to be my usual.....
I've had a quick skim read catch-up so don't know much of whats been happening, but I have to say my sympathies go out to you Rose.... I don't know how i'd cope. I help my Mum, it's actually my job as I do get a little funding from local authority for a few hours per week, but not near what I actually do, and it's very poorly paid as well.
My sis also helps a little, but she spent 3 weeks on hols abroad and by the end of that time I was shattered and at the end of my tether. I really hope one of your siblings can see what you have been doing. You are an :A0 -

Good morning all....just.
What a lovely heart-warming story SD. I hope it gives AngelsMadv some hope for the future. xBefore you assume, learn the facts,
