Saw a lovely pair of jeans I wanted today, but they were £97  Didnt have the money so borrowed £50 off my brother and £50 from my mam. Got the jeans and £3 change, and thought why hold on to the £3 so gave them a pound back each, (only owed them £49 each now :)) and I still had a pound, so that was good, almost the money for a half .
Then I got to thinking, I owe £49 x 2 =£98. I have a pound left, making £99, where has the other pound gone??

Put simply you didn't borrow £100, after you repaid the £2 you only borrowed £98, hence after the £97 jeans:eek: £1 left over for booze!

Please come back and tell us what happened, we are all thinking of you. :A
    Here goes!

Thank you all for your support yesterday. The social workers (2) came round and interviewed all of us. DS was terrible throughout. He them became an angel when they left. He took all my attention, all night and he was happy. My problem is, I can not give him 100% of my attention, and quite frankly, with how I'm tret, I don't want to. :( We are now on report and will be followed closely for months I'm told and they are contacting schools, link workers etc. I guess he got what he wanted - the rest of the family under suspicion and threat whilst he gets help. I just hope it does. :(

It's times like this when I am glad I am not a parent. Summoning me to a meeting to discuss this would result in me telling the child they are welcome to go with the social worker if living at home is so bad.[...]
Thank you for your words. I guess my worry, in my situation, is that I'm sure he would go to his biological dads. I know it may seem like the best thing, but knowing him, it would be like sentencing him to life of crime.

One is a drunk, one has already been in prison and a drug user, the other is a recluse.
This is the worry that truly breaks my heart :(:(

queen of cheap and any I have missed, thank you for your kind and informative wishes and views.

Mrs Moc Don't be pushed off. I'm sure it was merely a misunderstanding. Things can look very different through different eyes - hugs :A

A classic, Dave. The £1 has gone nowhere though. There is no missing pound. You've already paid back 1 pound each to your parents so the total debt should only add up to 98, and it does. :A

3Dogs and SD - I really do hope things turn out for the ebst with your doggy situations.

Have a good day, everyone. May you achieve everything you hope to. :A
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Morning all I bit of a quandrie Last night whilst shopping in Asdas I wombled a receipt This morning I got an APG for £3.40 the problem is that I think the receipt might have been used before as it has a small tear in the middle of it as though it has some thing stapled to it ie an Apg can apg be used twice I dont want to get into any trouble. thanks
If it has been used before it will be dated from the time it was printed and will therefore have less time on it than normal.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but I thinki it would have printed the APG without having to put your email/postal address in if it had already been used:)

You spent £97 on a pair of jeans :eek::eek: If that is true I think you ought to be unceremoniously booted off here!

As for the "missing" £1, you paid them each back a pound so have only borrowed £98, hence you have £1 left. As for the extortionate interest rate charged by normal money lenders .............

Boxer decided that he needed a bigger gap in the door

Please note the wheelie bin is new, a replacement for the broken one in the yard but I'm loathed to put it out there until I get a new door for the kitchen. The bin men hate my old one and keep asking when I'll start using the new one:o:rotfl:

Wow  Big hugs to you, hope it gets sorted soon.

On a lighter note, the gap does look a bit like bart simpsons head :)

AngelsMadV, thanks for letting us know what happened. Hopefully things will get sorted out for you now, have they offered him sort of counselling, if not I would ask them to sort some, if does help.

Good luck and stay strong we are thinking of you.
