He was bouncing when he got £22 and took him a while to fall asleep last night, he's already making plans for 'his' winnings :rotfl: I've told him he can have the £12 but I'm getting my initial £10 back, I think that's a good deal for him.
I couldn't do it often, I'd be bored to tears but I can see how it would get people addicted. I always set myself limits, I know the odds of getting even the initial money back. Last night DS managed to play through £30 including the bonus money so a loss of £8 if it was all my own money, I don't think so! it'll be closed down when and if I get my cashback.
I had to explain this to DS last night, his dad used to repair and test gaming machines so I know full well how easy it is for people to get addicted and how much money people lose and how much the company wins. I used to help in the collections and the lowest week was £16000, the average was £30000!!! There was quite a bit of money going through those machines each week and sad to watch some of the people fritter away their money when their kids were either sitting in buggies or playing at their parents feet for hours on end because they didn't want to leave the machine incase someone else got their winnings. The worst bit was that they didn't even realise they would always be the loser. One woman loved coming in after a collection because she thought that it was a luckier day but I can say that it never mattered, you're as likely to win on that day as any other one.
Thankfully doing this sort of job really put me off those machines, I'll stick to the 2p nudgers just for a bit of a laugh, I only ever lose a pound or two so not a big deal. If I wanted to try out a machine we were allowed to so long as we reset it after we'd finished but this was purely so some of the staff could then tell punters how easy or difficult the game was, we were never allowed to take the winnings as we were playing with the money from the machine in the first place so no loss for us.
Sorry post ended up going off on one of my usual tangents
I completely agree SD, my best mate used to work in a well known bookies and the amount of money that was thrown into the roulette machine was incredible. I used to go in for a cuppa and people would hand over their credit card to the staff and get them to load the cash on by the £100 rather than waste their time posting notes into the machines. There was always £1000's of pounds in there every day. Mental!!
I like a little flutter now and again but never ever play with more than I can afford to lose.choclate24 wrote: »Am i sad for getting excited about a possibility Easter egg glitch.:j

Morning Elite :money: :money:
My scrap man rang at 8 to say he would be here just after 9am to clear the rubbish out of the back garden so I had time to get up, showered and dressed before he arrived. He brought his wife and daughter with him (typical traveller type family) and they had done it all in less than 15 minutes, but still a well spent £60 for me, as it is cleared at last, and I wwill soon have a proper garden instead of a 'scrap yard' :j :j
Means that there's lots of mucky bits which are now wet after them tipping stale water out pots, buckets, boxes, etc, so Molly is having a great time rooting around in it all   Sunny here today, so it should dry out and then I will be able to sweep most of the rotting leaves, mud, etc up, so that will stop here treading it all into the house. I have mopped the hallway twice already but she keeps bringing leaves and twigs in, and, oh, those mucky footprints   :rotfl:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12
