When I start up the computer the screen fills up with a lot of numbers/letters and
non system disk or disk error
replace and strike any key when ready
which I have done but nothing happens, any ideas what the problem is?
it looks like i am going to have to get some one to look at it so any advice would be helpful.
thanks

funnily enough I have just checked and there is, I suspect that it has been in there a while,
I am using a computer in the childrens bedroom (bed time) so going to log off now, and try again

yes! I have taken the floppy disk out which I think must have been in the computer a few months,
so why will it have suddenly caused the computer to not start?
thanks anywayno debts0 -
whenever there is a floppydisk in the drive you will not be able to start a computer because it tries to boot from it automatically and finds it cant.0

As aboveWhen your computer boots the default place it looks for information or an operating system is normally the floppy disk drive. If the floppy disk doesn't contain any information which will enable it to boot up, it gives that error.
As for why it's just started it now, pass!Glad its sorted anyhow!
