Paper Round - pay rate these days

What is the average pay for a FREE paper round nowadays.

I had one as a teenager and they paid a penny a paper, (in the late 80's) if there were any leaflets I think I got a pound for all the leaflets in my round which was 178 houses but if I had two leaflets it was two pounds etc.

does anyone know the rate for a normal paper round. I was looking more for a once a week paper that you get free but maybe the pay per is similar

My son does a Sunday round. 14 papers to deliver within a mile and it takes around 20 minutes. He gets £4.

The shop also has a second round with roughly the same figures and that is also £4.

During the holidays he was asked to do a weekday morning round. That was 20 papers within 2 miles encompassing the above two routes (but not all the same houses) and took 40 minutes and he got paid £5 for each round!

I'm thinking about putting my own name down.
