hi members .
with a connection to earlier threads could someone please advise/clarify for me . . . .
i have received a form from csa seeking maintenance , i was on csa 1 but case was closed , now they are wanting to open a new case.
i have had a brief look at the form and part of it is requesting tax credits info (wtc + ctc) which i assume is used, alongside my income details, to work a maintenance figure out.
i am assuming i will be on a different csa system (csa2 ??) but are they honestly going to take tax credit info into account , i could begin to understand wtc's but ctc's seems unfair, yes it incomes into my household but ctc's are awarded to me and my wife for our children under our household circumstances .
so are they honestly going to use money given to my children who live with me to work out a sum to pay for my child who lives with my ex, who in turn is receiving wtc and ctc's anyway.
and if this is the case does she declare to tax credits when its time to renew that my csa payment to her is an income , surely so , if its classed as income to work a csa sum out then it has to be declared to tax credits for my ex's household income ???
any clarification on that matter or anything related would be gratefully received members !

Yes its correct and your ex does not need to declare the CM as its not means tested. Do you have your child overnight? If so, you will receive a reduction in CM due so its swings and roundabouts really. You will also receive a reduction for the children that live with you.0

hi shoediva79
i do have my child stayover but it isnt regular as such , over a year it averages as one night per week but on a week to week basis i might not have her stay over one weekend but stays over 2 nights the next week , its like that if you know what i mean ?
also on the csa system subject , if a new case was opened would it be csa 2 now ?? , i was on csa 1 but case was closed 12+ months ago !
