Hi all
Getting to my finer preparations now and am starting to think about make-up. I am pretty sure I want to do my own as I have never been happy with what people do to me before and I would like to keep the make-up afterwards lol.
I am going to book a slot at a make-up counter as I want to be made over, shown how to do it and then practise it at home. However, i am not sure which brand to go for. I'm not fussed about cost...if it's something I'll keep and use I don't mind £100-£150. I want everything doing eg primer (which I don't normally do) . I usually wear lancome foundation and benefit mascara/eyeshadow, but I have heard bare minerals is good, but I would be worried about how that sits on slightly dry:eek: skin!
Help!

I did exactly the same as you are planning. I choose MAC as I had heard good things about it lasting well and how they train their staff.
It was really good, paid £30 up front, the lady showed me everything step by step and exaplined it as she was going through it. Plus gave me a face map afterwards showing where all the products go.
Once you have decided which of the bits you would like to buy, they take the £30 off the final bill so the lesson becomes free, IYSWIM.0 -
I dream of Illamasqua doing my wedding makeup...*sigh*

My makeup lady used MAC cosmetics for my wedding makeup. She bought a new mascara & lipstick in my colours, which she then gave to me when she'd finished, as she said she wouldn't used them for anyone else (she trained at the makeup school at Stockport & this is what they are now advising).
Book an appointment at your nearest MAC counter - it's well worth it!0 -

Go for MAC my Makeup Tutor in College works for them and they always doing weddings she said. The products last and are really good. Plus they are trained unlike the likes of Estee Lauder and Clinque etc. I found they never try to hard sell products just recommend them but don't ask if you want to purchase them just let you decide yourself. Like someone said they give you a free face chart (bane of my life) which tells you which products they used and where.
Face and Body is great for your body as well such as scars etc and won't transfer on your dress. (I have a MAC Makeup Kit and F&B is great) Also Prep+Prime is a great primer and also Face & Body only sheer but great for dry skin (I have terrible dry skin myself).0 -
Sorry to hijack but where do you find the mac ladies please, would it be boots?0

Mine was in Selfridges, but if you go on their website you will be able to find the nearest one to you.0
