Please don't assume that other, younger people haven't had huge and unexpected financial difficulties which they may have managed to rise above - your turn of phrase comes across as quite insulting.0 -

No, I didn't need to reply, however as I'm a nice person, I wanted to offer a bit of encouragement that barriers such as this can be overcome.
However, I feel that you made an unnecessary comment that could be construed as quite offensive and could potentially isolate a lot of people who might be 'smug 20 somethings' who you assume have never suffered financially but could, in fact, be in a position to offer useful advice to you. There is no need to PM me telling me that I didn't need to reply to your post, that just makes you sound even less reasonable.0
