Moving when unemployed

I live in a place with terrible public transport and am struggling to find work. I have very little money, but I've been wondering how feasible it would be to move to somewhere like Birmingham and do low-skilled temp work through agencies to get my foot in. I've been unemployed for too long now and nobody wants me.

How do the eastern europeans do it? I suppose they have lots of friends. I don't have family I could stay with, I was imagining a hostel or something. Is it possible?

    minimum wage factory or warehouse type jobs.

    I've been trying to get a job with the intention of moving to it, you see, but it's not happening. Doing it the other way around, i think i'd have better luck, but i might find my self spending a lot of money with nothing coming in for some time. Seems dodgy.
