Work Focused Interview For Partners - Please Help

Hello all
Me and my partner are in need of some advice please.
Upto March 2012 I had worked at the same company for ten years, then the company closed down due to the economic climate and I was made redundant. I then got a job in November and this finished on the 8th of February this year due to no more work been available so im now back on Job seekers allowance.
My partner uses to work for the local council until she had our son who is now one and half years old. Her job was not available to go back to as it was axed due to cut backs.
Today my partner received a letter from the jobcentre stating on Tuesday 12th March she has to attend our local based job centre for a Work Focused Interview For Partners.
We had our son as I was in a full time job at the time and the plan was that my partner was a stay at home mum until my son was old enough to go to pre-school then she would try and find somewhere part time. Sadly due to the economic climate im now looking for work again.
Does this interview mean that my partner may be forced back into work?
Has anyone had any experience of going to one of this interviews and if so, what happens?
Thank you very much in advance for any help

Yes, she will be encouraged to seek work. I fail to see why that is a problem when both of you are available to care for him.0

As above if they find a suitable job for her they can cut your benefit if refused. You will need good excuses if they find employment. As above there are 2 of you at home so you can look after the little one. Unfortunately they may find her a job or course to attend. All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0
