Aged Self Assessment Question

Hi All,

Is it possible that someone can help me please?

There are two things in regard to my self asessment.

Recently I have been fined £100 for not submitting a self asessment for 2011-2012. During this time I had a ltd company and I dissolved the company at the time.

I think in theory I am liable but am unsure.

The second issue I have is that the day after I got this notice I got a second notice for not submitting my return for 2010-2011. This seems strange to me as I believe I did this at the time and that everything was fine.

However the HMRC want to fine me £300 pound for that one as well.

I guess the main questions are this. Point one. Do i need to do self asessment even though my company was liquidated? I think I do as we were still trading at the time the self asessment was due.

2- how can they fine me £300 for something that was two years ago and this is the first time I heard of this?

Regards,

Cas
