Too many ideas :-( How to make a Keepsake box for baby girl

Okay, after making my button canvas for my niece, a friend of a friend has asked me to make a keepsake box for her daughters things.

I'm a bit stuck tbh. What should the box be made from? So far I've looked at the white magnetic lid boxes like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370459752669?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648
Or maybe a simple paper mache box like http://direct.hobbycraft.co.uk/products-Paper-Mache-Small-Rectangular-Box-with-lid_16303.htm only bigger? This one I would either paint with poster paint or cover in a nice paper, like a decoupage effect?

Which makes me think just go with the magnetic lid box, so much easier and less hassle!!

The other part of the brief is 'pink and butterflies'. So, do I do button butterflies or something like http://www.woodware.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Jane11.jpg ? Or do I add on 3d butterflies??

Oh man, I've no idea which way to go! For people that make things for a living, how much creative imput do you give people? Do you just go with what you like, what you can do well, or do you give them a lot of imput to what they would like??
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
