Looking for some advice I am paying off a loan that I had defalted on so it was passed to an agency, when I checked my credit report it is not showing the payments i have been making it's sitting at £3460 but the report is shown as £3882 when I called the company to ask why they are not updating my details they told me they wont until it is cleared. Are they aloud to do this surly this is withholding information about me??

Any advise would be appreciated.

Credit agencies can only report the data given to them by companies.
    Usually this is done monthly.
Are you sure you aren't just being a bit impatient?
If you just missed their update then it could take a month before they update it again, so it's not unusual for them to be a little out of date.

How long did you leave it before checking?
You also have to allow the company time to update their systems and clear the payment as well as updating the credit reference agency.

Personally I don't think haveing £3882 rather than £3460 showing is going to make a huge difference in any lending decision.

Hi there, it has been sitting at £3882 for over 9 months and the report shows it was last updated at 1 May 07.
