Looking to remortgage (Countrywide)

I'm currently about 5-6 months away from the end of my 4 year fixed mortgage term with my current lender. I know now is a reasonably good time to remortgage and I know I want a 5 year fixed rate mortgage. As my current mortgage was found by an advisor at Countrywide they have been in contact and set up a few meetings to see if they can find me another deal and have told me I can arrange my remortgage up to 6 months before the end of my current one so we're ready to roll when the time comes.
Now I'm four years older and a little bit more assured than I was when buying my first house so I'm fairly confident (with the help of this website) I can find a competitive rate myself. So is there any reason to go to meetings, fill out budget planners and get my new mortgage through Countrywide? Do they really get exclusive deals or even offer any additional insight or make things easier than approaching a lender myself?

With their limited panel, you are far more likely to find a better deal by using a whole of market broker, or looking yourself.I am a mortgage broker. So I should politely decline any future requests to arrange a meeting?0

Listen to what they say, by all means, but don't limit your research to them alone. Direct lenders, such as HSBC, Post Office, Co-Op/Britannia. Yorkshire BS and whole market brokers should cover the whole market for you.
There are just as many exclusives Countrywide don't have access to as the ones they allege they do.I am a mortgage broker.
