Iva Info Needed

My husband and I are in a considerable amount of debt (£80k plus I'm afraid to say) and we at last realise this is not the way to live and want to get back on the straight and narrow.
Although we both have well-paid jobs, our outgoings (even after setting ourselves a strict budget) are more than we have coming in, so we were thinking an IVA would be the best solution.
The only thing is, our daughter is starting university this year and although she'll be getting a student loan for course fees, we'll still need to help her out with her other expenses (£85 per week rent, etc).
Does anyone know if an IVA will still allow us to give her a set amount each month for this?
We really don't want to get a consolidation loan, as we want to start on the road to being debt free, but we also want to make sure we'll be allowed to provide for her before we do anything.

Hi there eastern
Best ask the CCCS or the Citizens Advice Bureau (ask to see a money specialist at the CAB) in the first instance for free impartial advice re. your question - they both have websites.
I have an appt. this week to talk about an IVA (£30,000 debt) but sorry do not know about University fees.
Best of luck anyway.0 -
Will do -thanks for the advice.
Good luck to you too!0
